Google AdSense Online Terms of Service
Last modified 2013-04-16.
1.    Welcome to AdSense!
Thank you for your interest in our search and advertising services (the “Services”)!
By using our Services, you agree to these terms (the “AdSense Terms”), the AdSense Program Policies, and the Google Branding Guidelines (collectively, the “Agreement”). If ever in conflict, to the extent of such conflict, the AdSense Terms will take precedence over any other terms of the Agreement. Please read the Agreement carefully.
As used in the Agreement, “you” or “publisher” means the individual or entity using the Services (and/or any individual, entity or successor entity, agency or network acting on your behalf), “we”, “us” or “Google” means Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., and the “parties” means you and Google.
2.    Access to the Services; AdSense Accounts
Your use of the Services is subject to your creation and our approval of an AdSense account (an “Account”). We have the right to refuse or limit your access to the Services. By submitting an application to use the Services, if you are an individual, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age. You may only have one Account.
By enrolling in AdSense, you permit Google to serve, as applicable, (i) advertisements and other content (“Ads”), (ii) Google search boxes and search results and (iii) related search queries and other links to your websites, mobile applications, media players, mobile content and/or other properties approved by Google (each individually a “Property”). In addition, you grant Google the right to access, index and cache the Properties or any portion thereof, including by automated means. Google may refuse to provide the Services to any Property.
Any Property that is a software application and accesses our Services (a) may require preapproval by Google in writing, and (b) must comply with Google’s Software Principles.

Make your blog load faster

The speed at which your blog loads is critical to attracting more readers to your blog. If your blog takes a long time to load, many readers may leave your blog before they have the chance to read it. Here are a few tips and tricks that will help your blog load faster and attract more users:

Posts

Your blog's load time can be affected by the number of posts you display on your main page. You can easily edit the number of posts displayed of the main page from the Layout tab. Click Edit in the Blog post section to change the number of posts you want to display on the main page. We recommend displaying 10 or fewer posts on the main page.

Third Party JavaScript and Links

For optimal blog load speed, we recommend using Google/Blogger widgets, JavaScript and links. However, if you need to use third party JavaScript and links, your blog will load much faster if you put all JavaScript at the bottom of your blog. If you have third party JavaScript and links in your sidebar, put them in at the bottom of the sidebar.

Images and Media

The more images, videos and other multi-media you have on your blog the longer it will take to load. However, images and other multimedia are important to attracting users to your blog, so it is important to optimize the load speed of your images and media. Here are a few tips to increase the load speed of your media:
  • Decrease the size of your images or use thumbnails that link to the full-size image.
  • If you use third party images, consider uploading them to Picasa Web Albums via the Blogger post editor.
  • If you have a large number of images to display, you can upload all your images (from a vacation or event) to a Picasa Web Album and link to the album in your post or sidebar.
Other suggestions

  • If you've added any custom CSS to your blog, make sure you put it at the top of the page.
  • The most important content of your blog that catches readers attention should load the quickest. To help you identify which items are taking the longest to load you can use Stopwatch. To use Stopwatch, enter your blog's URL into the text box and click "Start StopWatch". Stopwatch will then open your blog in a frame and will record the time it takes for everything on your blog to load, including images, videos, widgets, etc. Take note of the items that take the longest to load and modify them appropriately using our suggestions.

I've deleted my blog but it's still online

Try clearing your Web browser's cache and then refreshing the page. If you have recently deleted your blog, you may have to wait a day before it completely disappears. Additionally, some search engines keep cached copies of pages in their search results for up to a week so you may have to wait an a few days before your blog is removed from all search engines.

I'm receiving email spam from blogspot.com addresses

Makers of spam blogs often promote their blogs with annoying spam emails. Unfortunately, some of these spammers advertise their spam blogs on Blogspot with this method. If you have received spam email referencing blogspot.com addresses, please be aware that such emails do not originate from Blogger in any way. Unfortunately, since these emails do not pass through our servers, we are thus unable to do anything regarding the sending and receiving of such spam; however, if you'd like to report the Blogspot URLs of the spam blogs contained within the emails you receive, we would be happy to investigate and take action as necessary. Thanks for helping us keep spam off of Blogger.

Help people find your blog

To help readers find your blog, there are two things you can do:

  1. Add your blog to our listings.
  2. Allow search engines to find your blog.
Our listings include Blogger and Next Blog. You can link to your blog from the Blogger home page and Next Blog. Next Blog is a button in the Blogger navigation bar that people can click to see blogs that match their interests. To make these changes, you’ll change your privacy settings so that your blog can be found by search engines.

  1. Sign in to blogger.com.
  2. Click on the name of the blog that you want to edit.
  3. Click Settings on the left.
  4. Next to Privacy, click Edit
  5. Mark Yes and click Save Changes.
TIPS:

  • If you select "No," your blog won't appear in these places, but it'll still be available on the Internet.
  • This blog will still be displayed on your profile. If you want to hide it, unselect the relevant checkbox from the Select Blogs to Display page.
  • If you have a Google+ profile, list your blog in your About section. You can include it under “Links”, “Contributor to.”

Someone is linking to images on my server

Blogger is a provider of content creation tools, not a mediator of that content. We allow our users to create blogs, but we don't make any claims about the content of these pages. In cases where a contact email address is listed on the page, we recommend working directly with the author to have this situation remedied.
Additionally, there are measures you can (and should) take to protect your images from being linked to, described in the following articles:

  • Apache-Server.com, "Preventing Image 'Theft'"
  • Webmaster World discussion thread, "Using htaccess to prevent image linking"
Please follow up with your web host if you have any questions about implementing these techniques.
